The new 2016 Honda Pilot is entirely different from its predecessor. It has new exterior design, powertrains, interior materials, and even new style cabin controls. This three-row crossover is available in LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite trim levels.
With the exception of Elite that sits only seven due to second-row captain’s chairs, every trim seats eight occupants. Here are some pictures of the 2016 Honda Pilot.
The interior of the 2016 Honda Pilot is one of the most versatile in minivan class. Cargo capacity of 83.9 cubic feet is respectable among competitors, while it maintains more than acceptable number of seats along with bins and cup holders. For 2016, Honda Pilot uses soft-touch surfaces instead of hard plastic on dash and door panels.
Most trims now give 8-inch touchscreen where you can control navigation, entertainment, and communication functions. In general, it is quite a leap forward compared to the previous generation.
To get better understanding of how the interior look, take a look at the following 2016 Honda Pilot pictures focusing on interior parts. As standard feature on EX-L and above trims, the second-row seats tilt and slide forward with a push of a button.
The exterior parts have been redesigned as well; from the previously square-looking shape that has stood for about six years or so, the Pilot now has sleek lines and sharp angles.
With the optional LED daytime running lights and LED headlamps, the front and rear give premium look to blend with everything else on the class.
Base LX model gives 18-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, cruise control, active noise cancellation, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and 60/40-split folding third-row seat. Entertainment department includes 7-speaker sound system, Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity, USB port, and auxiliary audio. A rearview camera also exists.
EX trim adds fog lights, automatic headlights, LED running lights, keyless ignition and entry, adjustable driver seat, climate control, 8-inch touchscreen interface, satellite radio, upgraded 7-speaker system, smartphone connectivity, and traction management control.
EX-L adds sunroof, leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power tailgate, adjustable front passenger seat, auto dimming rearview mirror, and heated front seats.
For EX and EX-L models, Honda Sensing package is available; it adds forward collision warning, automatic braking system, road and lane departure intervention system, and lane departure warning.
Specifically for EX-L, it is possible to add rear entertainment system which includes HDMI, RCA, overhead screen, USB ports for second row, and 115V power outlet. However, these options are not available in combination of each other.
Touring has all that EX-L provides, but it adds roof rails, 9-speed transmission, parking sensors, automatic engine start/stop, second-row sunshades, 10-speaker system, and driver memory setting.
On Elite model, you get 20-inch wheels, automatic high beam headlight, LED headlights, automatic windshield, panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, HD radio, heated second-row captain’s chairs, heated and ventilated front seats, and blind-spot monitor.
The 2016 Honda Pilot price starts at $29,995 to $46,420.
