Audi has launched a special edition version of the A5 3.0 TDI, celebrating its continued involvement in the German Touring Car series, the DTM. The limited production run will be restricted to just 50 cars, making it one of the most exclusive Audis on the road but it’s unclear if any will make it to the UK.
The Audi A5 DTM gets 20in titanium look alloy wheels and comes in Misano red paint. DTM, Quattro and Audi Sport logos are emblazed on the bonnet, doors and rear window with high-gloss black treatment added to front, rear and side skirts. A rhombus patterned front apron and air inlets set the DTM model further apart.
Inside the DTM you’ll find bucket seats from the RS models with more DTM logos throughout. Door and side inlays, backrest covers and the centre console are also treated to Misano Red colouring. The seats and leather-trimmed steering wheel get red stitching. Alcantara features on the flat-bottomed street wheel and the pedals are stainless steel.
Modifications are limited to cosmetic and interior changes, with the 3.0TDI V6 diesel Quattro unchanged from the standard car. It produces 242bhp, goes from 0-62mph in 5.9sec, manages 44.8mpg and has emissions of 162g/km.
The limited run of the BMW 4 Series rival is unconfirmed for the UK as yet, and is being sold in Germany for €74,540.
